HAMILTON 54, OLD FORGE 23

>> Hayden Nolan scored 18 points of the bench to lead Hamilton’s girls basketball team to a 54- 23 victory over Old Forge in their Class D playoff game Friday.

Jess Welsh added 15 for the seventh- seeded Emerald Knights in the victory.

“We were a little sluggish at the beginning but we started to make some plays in transition that got us going,” said Hamilton coach Gary Weeks.

“Hayden has provided a spark for us off the bench, and we needed it tonight as Lauren Weeks got into early foul trouble. We can’t afford to let that happen on Wednesday ( against New York Mills) but it was nice to see the other girls step up. Jess Welsh was huge on both ends of the court for us tonight and we need her to play big for us from here on out.”
