Wish come true for 9- year- old girl
Sabrina Buell to visit Disney World thanks to Make- A- Wish
ONEIDA >> A nine- year- old girl’s dreams came true Thursday at Pepi’s Pizza.
Sabrina Buell was given a trip to Disney World with her family by the Make- A- Wish Foundation, providing her the opportunity to visit her dream destination. Sabrina loves the Disney Princesses, especially Belle.
“I was so surprised,” said Sa- brina’s father, Richard Buell. “I thought we were coming here to fill out more paperwork for the program or something.”
Sabrina has been diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder effecting the brain which inhibits head growth as well as the ability to walk. Rett syndrome mostly occurs in young women and makes it difficult to speak. Because of her condition, Sabrina may be prone to gastrointestinal disorders and seizures.
Make- A- Wish grants the wishes of children with lifethreatening conditions between the ages of 2 and 18. Since 1985, the Central New York Chapter has fulfilled more than 1,400 wishes.
In addition to the trip from Make- A- Wish, Pepi’s donated the dinner for the announcement and Walmart gave the family a set of luggage and a cake for the event.
Sabrina and her brother and sister said they were excited to go to Disney World in July. Sabrina was especially excited to meet all of her favorite Disney Princesses.
