SHERRILL >> Robert J. Tarry, 77, of 101 Fairway Lane, died Friday evening, May 24, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his loving Family.

He was born, Dec. 23, 1935, in Oneida, the son of Lester and Anna Mae Clark.

On Jan. 14, 1956, in St. Joseph’s Church, Oneida, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Tallman.

Mr. Tarry had been employed as a machinist for Die Tooling in Wampsville. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Sherrill Post No. 230. He was also a member of the E. Bart Hanifin Council No. 473, Knights of Columbus and the Oneida Owls Nest No. 1606.

Surviving are: his wife Mary; three sons and two daughters- in law, Robert J. and Deborah Tarry of Sherrill, Richard K. Tarry of Florida and Ronald and Cynthia of Sherrill; and a daughter, Karen Tarry of Oneida. Also surviving are two brothers and sistersin- law, Lester and Theresa of Lakeland, Fla. and Thomas and Patricia of Oneida; three sisters and two brothers- in- law, Margaret “Peggy” O’Connell of Oneida, Ellen and Ted Bolton of Syracuse and Eileen and George Carson of Canastota. Robert was also survived by seven grandchild­ren, Robert L., Stacey K., Jessica E., Heather, Sean, Kyle and Anna; and two great- grandchild­ren, Marco A. Sanchez and Harper R. Zimmerman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, at 9: 15 a. m. from the Coolican- McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida and at 10 a. m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Oneida where, the funeral mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Kapral, pastor. Interment will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oneida, where the Rite of Committal will be recited by the Rev. Kapral.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday, May 30, from 4 p. m. to 7 p. m. at the funeral home. Contributi­ons in Bob’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
