Alice Darrh Gilbert, 78, of Verona Beach

VERONA BEACH >> Alice Alma Darrh Gilbert, 78, of Verona Beach, N. Y. passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Redfield, N. Y. on Jan. 17, 1935, a daughter of Byron E. and Gladys Wickham. She attended the local schools and first married Phillip Darrh who predeceased her in 1980. Alice than married Donald Gilbert, who predeceased her in 1992. She was also predeceased by five sisters and six brothers. Alice found great pleasure in fishing, crocheting, gardening and birds.

Alice is survived by five daughters, Diana and Charles Rood of Brockport, N. Y., Debra and Louis Brockway of Cleveland, N. Y., Donnetta and Jon Stenberg of Doylestown, Pa., Paula Darrh and Tom Pulis of Brewerton, N. Y., Darlene and Michael Gladle of Cleveland, N. Y.; 15 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; two sisters, Peggy and Eugene Hilts of Verona, N. Y., Ethel Finch of Rome, N. Y.; a brother, Paul and Sue Wickham of Virginia; her best friend and companion for many years, Penny Perkins; many nieces and nephews, and her dog Jodi Lyn.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 10 a. m. to 12 p. m. with the services to follow at 12 p. m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square, N. Y. Interment will be at the Maple Flats Cemetery in Cleveland, N. Y. following the services. Contributions may be made to the North Shore Food Pantry, P. O. Box 236, Cleveland, N. Y.
