Esther G. Stedman, 84, of Chittenango
CHITTENANGO >> Esther G. Stedman, 84, of Chittenango, went home to be with her Lord on May 27, 2013 with members of her family at her side.
She was a life resident of Chittenango and attended Chittenango High School. She graduated from CCBI for secretarial sciences. She retired from Davis Wallbridge, Inc. and spent part of her retirement traveling with her husband all over North America. She was a 50 year plus member of the First Baptist Church of Chittenango, and president of the Gideon Auxiliary for Madison County. She enjoyed her family, flying with her husband, and teaching God’s word. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Through her words and actions she showed others the importance of having a relationship with the Lord. Esther’s kindness and generosity have left a permanent imprint in the lives of those she touched.
She was predeceased by two brothers, David Grossman and Hans Grossman, and a sister, Gretchen Babcock Gibson. Survivors: her hus- band of 61 years, Lyle R. Stedman; daughter, Deborah ( Leonard) Borland of Chittenango; sons, Warren ( Valerie) Stedman of Cazenovia and Gilbert ( Carol) Stedman of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Ruth Lorenz of Crestline, Calif. and brothers, Oscar Grossman of Sandy Creek, N. Y. and Frank Grossman of Portageville, N. Y. She had eight grandchildren, Corey Coon of Concord, N. C., Gilbert Stedman IV, of Yonkers, N. Y., Benjamin Stedman of Scottsdale, Ariz., Robert and Ryan Borland of Chittenango and Rachel, Jeremy and Matthew Stedman of Cazenovia and one great- granddaughter, Natalie Coon, of Concord, N. C.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 2, at 3 p. m. at the First Baptist Church of Chittenango with a reception following the service.
