The official results for all the elections in Madison and Oneida counties will be available Monday or Tuesday after the Board of Elections receives military ballots.

Madison County Republican Commissioner Lynn M. Jones said military ballots are given two extra weeks to come in and have to be postmarked for Nov. 4.

Jones said the races have been completely decided and will not be changed by any outstanding military ballots; however, it is policy to wait until the results are revealed to release final numbers.

After looking at close races, all of the unofficial results still stand and are unlikely to change.

Here is a look at some of the closest numbers in Madison County with absentee and affidavits added:

• Fenner: Republican Dave Jones is still ahead for supervisor with 272 votes, FNN candidate Carl Snow received 258 votes.

• Lenox: Council seats are most likely going to John Hadyk with 1,194 votes and Anthony Palamara with 1,031 votes.

• Smithfield: The highway superintendant position is going to Dan Davis with 157 votes to Jason DeGroat with 145 votes.

The Oneida County race for Legislative District 1 is still contested between Howard Regner and Kenneth G. Fort. Numbers for this election will be released next week.

The Oneida Dispatch will report any changes and the official numbers when they become available.
