WAUPUN, WIS. >> Cornelia M. “Neal” Twomey, 90, formerly of Oneida died Thursday morning May 29, 2014 in Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, Wis.

Neal was born Feb. 25, 1924 in Vernon, N.Y. a daughter of Albert C. and Margaret Murphy Dam. She spent most of her life in the Oneida area and moved to Waupun, Wis. two years ago. She was a graduate of Verona High School, class of 1941.

On Sept. 6, 1947 she married Charles T. Twomey in St. Catherine’s Church, Vernon. Charles died on April 11, 2010.

She was employed as a personnel manager with the former Mastercraf­t Corp. of Oneida during World War II, and held many office management positions after that time.

Neal enjoyed participat­ing in sports, having achieved records in track and field. She was an avid sports enthusiast until her death. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Oneida.

Neal is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Twomey of Albany and Deborah Twomey of Minoa; a daughter, Dr. Carleen and Dr. Daniel Vande Zande of Waupun, Wis.; a grandson, Collin Twomey of Mi- noa; a sister-in-law, Maryann Stanhope of Oneida; brothers-in-law, John Twomey of Oneida and Paul (Karen) Twomey of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Neal was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret Dam of Verona, N.Y.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, James L. and Harriet Dam of Vernon, N.Y., Francis (Sam) and Lee Dam of Verona, N.Y.; and her sister and brother-inlaw, Richard and Jeanette Lawless of Vernon, N.Y.

A Prayer Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. 342 Main St., Oneida followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church 121 St. Joseph’s Place Oneida. The Rev. Richard J. Kapral will officiate. Interment will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Oneida. There will be no calling hours. In her memory memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Memorial Fund.
