Rummage and bake sale June 7

ONEIDA>> New Hope Community Christian Church will hold a rummage and bake sale on Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a bag sale from 2-4 p.m. Donations may be brought to the church, located on West Road, on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Craft festival set for June 14

RICHFIELDS­PRINGS>> The Church of Christ Uniting will hold a craft festival on Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spring Park. Brooks Barbecue will be available from 12-3 p.m. and hot dogs and hamburgers will be served all day. A bake sale will also be held. Special guests will be the Beekman Boys. Admission is free. Father’s Day barbecue in Canastota

CANASTOTA>> The United Church of Canastota, 144 Center St. is hosting a drive-through Father’s Day Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, June 15 starting at 11 a.m. The menu includes chicken, beans, salt potatoes, coleslaw, roll and cookies. All meals are $10 or $9 with a canned good donation for the food pantry.

Strawberry festival June 14 in Sherrill

SHERRILL >> Christ Church United Methodist will hold its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 14 from 4-7 p.m. Christ Church is located behind the Sherrill Shopping Center at 417 Park St. The church is elevator accessible at the Park Street entrance. All-you-can-eat strawberry shortcake will be $5 per person. Pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs and potato salad will also be for sale. Take-outs will be available.

Gospel concert offered June 27

WAMPSVILLE >> New Beginnings Community Church will present Glory Land: An Evening of Old Time Gospel Music on Friday, June 27 at 7 p.m. at the church, 227 Genesee St. The program will feature Skip Roberts, the church’s worship director. Reservatio­ns taken for Lancaster trip

ONEIDA>> The Oneida First Presbyteri­an Church will sponsor a bus trip to Lancaster, Pa. to see “Moses” at the Sight & Sound Millennium Theater. The dates for this trip are Tuesday, Sept. 23 through Wednesday, Sept. 24. The getaway will include seeing the new production of “Moses” as well as having an in-home Amish dinner. Lindsey Family will perform at Augusta

ORISKANYFA­LLS>> The Lindsey Family of 12 will perform at Augusta Presbyteri­an Church, 2345 Route 26, on Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m. The band, made up exclusivel­y of family members, hails from Tennessee. They perform bluegrass gospel and other Christian music. They have been featured on American Journey on HLN and have produced a number of CDs which will be available for purchase. There will be a free will offering and refreshmen­ts.

Yard sale at Delta UMC

ROME >> Delta United Methodist Church will hold an indoor/outdoor yard sale on Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, corner of Hawkins Corners Road and Route 26. The event will include a yard sale, bake sale, rummage sale and book sale. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and beverages will be available. A take-out chicken barbecue will be served beginning at noon. The Corner Closet Consignmen­t Shop will also be open.

Chicken barbecue slated for June 14

ORISKANYFA­LLS>> First Presbyteri­an Church of Augusta and Vernon Center will hold a chicken barbecue on Saturday, June 14 beginning at noon. The cost is $8.50 for the meal or $5 per chicken half. The church is located on Route 26.

Golf tournament scheduled for Aug. 1

ONEIDA>> The third annual Nicaragua Mission Golf Tournament is being held at Kanon Valley Country Club on Friday, Aug. 1. Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase the medicines needed for the 2015 mission. Sign-in is at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Registrati­on fee is $100 per player or $90 before July 1. Clothing donations accepted at St. John’s

ONEIDA>> St. John’s Episcopal Church, 341 Main St., has been chosen by St. Pauly Textile, Inc. as a repository for used clothing. St. Pauly’s mission is to provide wearable clothing to people who need it, both in the United States and Third World countries. Items that can be collected include clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets, curtains and stuffed toys. No rags or fabric scraps, pillows, toys or household goods are accepted. Donations are not cut up or shredded. Items should be placed in plastic bags (no larger than 13 gal. size) and placed in the chute of the shed located on St. John’s driveway. Donations are acceptable any time of the day or night. This mission has provided over 30 million garments to people all over the world who are in need.

Senior ministry offered Wednesdays

VERONA>> St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Christian Ministry for Seniors each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be coffee and conversati­on, Bible study, and at 10:30 a.m. a special program will be held. There will also be exercise and lunch at noon.
