Virginia D. Cordell, 78, of Kirkville
KIRKVILLE>> Virginia D. Cordell, 78, of 785 Fyler Road, Lot 59, Kirkville, died on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Oneida Healthcare.
She was born on May 9, 1936 in Syracuse, a daughter of Henry and Doris Allen Argus.
Virginia spent her early years in East Syracuse, graduating from East Syracuse High School in 1954. She later lived in Chittenango, and for the last 30 years has made her home with her husband in Kirkville.
She worked at W.T. Grants and Rite-Aid in Chittenango for many years.
Virginia enjoyed watching games shows on television, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She married Charles L. Cordell on May 14, 1955, in East Syracuse.
Surviving besides her husband, Charles, are: two sons and one daughter-inlaw, Charles H. and Sandra Cordell of East Syracuse, and William E. Cordell of Chittenango; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Stephen Lee of Oneida and Brenda and Frederick Lawrence of Lakeport; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Annie Argus of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters and one brother-inlaw, Charleen and Jack Brennan of Syracuse and Carrie Swann of Maryland; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Virginia’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, Mass. 02241-7005.
