MVITA RELAYS NO. 1 >> Cazenovia entered the girls meet with a 32-meet unbeaten streak and kept it in tact, tying Clinton for the top spot with 71 points apiece. Ashley Kent was the only Laker to win an event, taking first in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.68 while the senior and her teammates combined for three second-place finishes and five third-place finishes. Anna Galbraith won the 1,500 (5:01.27) for ninthplace Chittenang­o while Canastota finished fifth led by Devin Lee Robinson’s second-place finish in the triple jump (31-8.0). Cazenovia’s boys team won five events and finished second with 82 points, two points behind first-place Clinton. Walker Nichols led the Lakers with wins in the 55 hurdles (8.3), high jump (5-8) and long jump (19-6.0). Canastota placed ninth while Chittenang­o finished 11th. CANASTOTA5­0, SHERBURNEE­ARLVILLE 48 >> Jeff Olden led the Raiders with 18 points while Bailey Curtis added 14 in Canastota’s second straight win. VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 63, WATERTOWN 52 >> Davey Moffett and Jeremy VanDuLuitg­aarden scored 24 points apiece for the Red Devils, who made 18 of 22 free throws to win their third straight game.
