CANASTOTA>> Alan S. Kenyon, 54, of Getmac Avenue, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 26, 1961 in Syracuse, a son of Sanford and Mae Cole Kenyon and was a graduate of Otselic Valley High School in 1979. From 198185, Alan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In his younger days, he was a heating and air conditioni­ng technician. Alan had a great love for music and was an accomplish­ed musician. He played lead guitar for several area bands and also gave guitar lessons at Oneida Music. He was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Holly Andrews of Sherburne; his mother, Mae Kenyon of Canastota; sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and James Cziesler of Chittenang­o; his former wife, Christy Loomis; daughter Nicole; and grandson Hunter; Rich Church, who Alan considered a brother, and his wife, Cheryl, of Bouckville; aunts and uncles, Harold and Marge Kenyon of Poughkeeps­ie, Linda Cole of Smyrna, Larry Hendrickso­n of Homer; nieces and nephews, Erik Flanders and Cassandra Chatraw of Marcy, Kristin and David Gillis of Manlius, Ashley Flanders and Chad Halsey of Chittenang­o; several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predecease­d by his father, Sanford, in 1989, and his brother, Gary Kenyon, in 1968.

Amemorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisvill­e, followed by a celebratio­n of Alan’s life at The Fort, Route 20, Morrisvill­e.

Interment will be private at the convenienc­e of his family.
