VERONA>> Helen M. Mackey, 73, of Green Road, passed away on Feb. 27, 2016, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a patient for the past six days.

Born in Blossburg, Pa. on April 27, 1942, she was a daughter of Harold and Clara Caukins Hollenbeck. Helen married Jeffrey Mackey on Feb. 8, 1964 in Durhamvill­e. She attended Oneida High School.

Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed by WalMart and had been previously employed by Oneida Molded Plastics. In her free time, Helen enjoyed crocheting, completing puzzles, working in puzzle books and playing bingo. She was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving besides her husband, Jeffrey, are two daughters and one sonin-law, Yavonne and Robert Relyea and Sherry and David Winchell Jr. all of Canastota; three sons, Eugene Mackey of Delphi Falls, Daniel Mackey of Fulton and John Wayne Mackey of Bridgeport; 15 grandchild­ren; several great-grandchild­ren; one sister, Barbara Straight of Norwich; one brother, Harry Hollenbeck of Rome; one sister-in-law, Bonney Ennett of Westmorela­nd; her cat, Tigger and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by a sister, Betty Munderback and a brother, Eugene R. Hollenbeck.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida. Interment will be made in Oneida Castle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
