Tasting Along the Towpath Saturday
Fundraiser supports Oneida Rail Trail
Aficionados and casual drinkers will have an opportunity to sample craft beers from both local and national breweries this Saturday in the City of Oneida, all in the name of supporting recre- ation, outdoors enjoyment and local history.
The Oneida Improvement Committee, will hold the third annual Tasting Along the Towpath, a craft beer tasting Saturday, Aug. 13 from 2-5 p.m. at Jack’s or Better, 193 Lake Road in Oneida.
The event is a nod to the area’s Erie Canal heritage, and the Oneida Rail Trail’s connection to the Erie Canalway Trail.
Proceeds from the event will go to help the development of the Oneida Rail Trail - a multi-use trail system that, once complete, will utilize abandoned railroad beds that traverse the city.
Pre-sale tickets are $20, or $25 that day at the door.
There will be live music by the Madison-Grassers, a cashbar, and food.
The admission price gets eventgoers a sampling glass to enjoy free samples from 25 state and national craft brewers.
Brewers from New York include: Saranac, Ommegang, Lake
Lake Placid, Ithaca, Adirondack, Brooklyn, Good Nature, Empire, Southern Tier, Captain Lawrence, Middle Ages, Keegan, Brown’s, Prison City and Woodland.
