CANASTOTA>> Diane L. Clark, 61, of 4175 Seeber Road, Canastota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at her home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1954, in Canastota, a daughter of Arthur and Theodora (French) Bergman.

Diane was a lifelong resident of Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1973. She later attended Cazenovia College.

Prior to her marriage, she worked in advertisin­g for the Syracuse New Times. She married James E. Clark on June 21, 1997 in Forestport. Following her marriage, she was a house wife, mother, and grandmothe­r. Diane volunteere­d with the American Red Cross and spent several months providing disaster relief on the Gulf coast following Hurricane Katrina. Her loves beyond being a wife, mother, and grandmothe­r, included quilting, photograph­y and the arts. Surviving besides her husband, Jim, are: her beloved sons, Samuel Clark of Canastota, Christophe­r Patane and Kellie Nadeau of Canastota, and Alexander Patane of Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Leah Berg- man of Oneida; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Kevin Pease of Canastota; her sister-in-law, Patricia Bergman of Canastota; her granddaugh­ters, Hayley Patane, and Alissa Lucas; her great-granddaugh­ter, Gianna Lucas; as well as many nieces and nephews. Diane was predecease­d by her parents; four brothers, Richard Bergman, William “Billy” Bergman, Gary Bergman, and Jimmy Bergman.

Diane’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Ofrona Reid and his staff, Hospice Care of New Hartford, the staff at Oneida Healthcare, and those at the Canastota Rite Aide Pharmacy, for all their help and support.

A celebratio­n of her life will be held at a date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Arrangemen­ts are under the supervisio­n of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota.

In her memory, contributi­ons may be made to the American Red Cross, 134 Vanderbilt Ave., Oneida, N.Y. 13421.
