Chicken barbecue set for Oct. 1

ROME >> Lowell United Methodist Church, 5840 Lowell Road, will hold a chicken barbecue on Oct. 1 beginning at noon. The meal is take-out only. The menu includes a half chicken, beans, macaroni salad, roll, and dessert for $10. Chicken halves will be available for $7.

Progressive dinner offered Sunday

ONEIDA>> The Oneida Area Council of Christian Churches will hold its annual Walkabout Progressive Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 2. The dinner will begin at First Presbyterian Church with hors d’oeuvres. Participants will then walk to First United Methodist Church for soup and salad, St. John’s Episcopal Church for entrée and Oneida Baptist Church for dessert. Harvest Dinner served Sept. 30

ROME >> Delta United Methodist Church will hold a Harvest Dinner on Friday, Sept. 30 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the church, corner of Hawkins Corners Road and Route 26N. The menu will include roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, applesauce, vegetable, homemade rolls, dessert and beverage. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5-12 and free for children 4 and younger. Take outs will be available. The church is handicapped accessible.
