Do you have a little one at home or know someone who does? Have you heard of a WHALE kit? In this case WHALE stands for “We Have a Little Emergency.” The kit contains stickers for parents and caregivers to fill out and attach to their child’s car seat, so in the event there is an accident and the adults in the car are unable to communicate with first responders, the emergency responders can easily read the child’s name, emergency contact information and any special needs or medical information.

The WHALE logos are nationally recognized by law enforcement, fire and other emergency personnel. As part of a community outreach, the hospital auxiliary has ordered kits for the community which the library is helping to make readily available to you. To pick up your kit, stop by the library or Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton or contact Gloria Lenhart at 824-2267.
