Bears bounce back, Raiders remain perfect
The Chittenango football team recovered from its first loss of the season with a nonleague win over Dryden while Canastota kept its perfect record intact with a victory at winless Adirondack.
CHITTENANGO27, DRYDEN0 >> The Bears bounced back from their first loss with a shutout on the road, with four different players scoring touchdowns and the defense adding a safety in Friday night’s football game. Christian Cerio had a 30-yard touchdown run, Antonio Cutrie scored on a 3-yard run, Connor Fredericks scored from five yards out and Hunter Hendrix returned a fumble eight yards for a touchdown. WESTMORELAND 37, MORRISVLLE-EATON 0 >> M-E was shutout at home, falling to 0-5 on the season. Noah Bowen caught a 20yard touchdown pass for the Bulldogs and added 23 and 42-yard touchdown runs. Mike Sweeney threw three touchdown passes in the winning effort. CANASTOTA 34, ADIRONDACK 14 >> The Raiders improved to 4- 0 in Class C Southeast play and 5- 0 overall with the road victory.

WHITESBORO 6, CAMDEN 1 >> Peyton Falk and Yvette O’Kay took the Blue Devils’ lone point of the Section III Class B playoff defeat with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 victory in fourth doubles.
