Patricia L. Orth, 59, of Oneida

ONEIDA>> Patricia L. (Bussey) Orth, 59, of Oneida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 in St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

She was born on March 10, 1957 in Rome, a daughter of the late Paul Bussey and Edith Lorraine Tracy. Pat was a 1975 graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. She retired from SUNY Morrisville in 2013 after many years of dedicated employment. Prior to Morrisville, she worked for Oneida BOCES. On March 26, 2011, Pat was united in marriage to Thomas Orth. They were married for five years but they shared their love and devotion to each other for nearly 20 years. She loved to tend to her beautiful flower gardens and enjoyed a cocktail while pretending to golf. Pat truly adored her grandchildren and will be missed by her entire family.

Pat is survived by her husband, Tom; a son, Gary and Nicole Branigan of Nashville, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Anne Orth and Jason Wilcox of Oneida and Lindsay and Dennis Carey of Vernon; six cherished grandchildren, Miles, Sam, Carter, Liam, Logan, and Lucas; a sister, Rebecca Herrig of Vernon; nephew, Nick Cosimeno and his daughter, Paige; uncle, Charles and Barbara Tracy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeff Cosimeno.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Gulla Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 209 N. Washington St., Rome (336-5700).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for an educational fund for her grandchildren.
