Rummage and bake sale Oct. 7-8

SHERRILL>> The Women of Christ Church, 417 Park St. will hold a rummage and bake sale on Friday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 8, there will be a $1 bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon on the rummage sale items.

Fall rummage sale at Oneida Baptist

ONEIDA>> Oneida Baptist Church will hold a Fall Rummage Sale on Friday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A bag sale will be held Saturday. The church is located on the corner of Washington Avenue and Main Street.

Six-week study session offered

VERNON>> The Secular Franciscan­s will host a special retreat to end the Year of Divine Mercy for six Saturdays beginning Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. at The Church of the Holy Family, 4352 Peterboro St. The course includes daily selfreadin­g on teachings of Mary, St. Theresa and St. Faustina from the book “33 Days of Merciful Love.” Participan­ts will begin readings on Oct. 12. Spaghetti dinner served Oct. 13

VERONA>> St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a spaghetti dinner on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 4-7 p.m. The menu includes spaghetti with sauce, homemade meatballs, hot or sweet sausage, salad, Italian bread, beverages and dessert. Take outs will be available. Proceeds will help fund capital projects at St. Peter’s. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 6-10, and free for ages 5 and younger. Catholic Daughters will hold covered dish supper

VERNON>> Court Our Lady No. 1250, Catholic Daughters of America will hold its Annual Covered Dish Supper meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Holy Family Parish Center, 4343 Peterboro St. Members are urged to attend and reminded to bring a dish to pass, their own table service and to remind others to come. All Catholic women from the area parishes are invited to attend as guests of the court for supper and to enjoy the October festivity of fellowship in carrying out the mission of Mary, Patroness of the Court. Mary Reiter and Melissa King and their committee are in charge of arrangemen­ts.

Harvest dinner set for Oct. 8

VERONA>> The Verona United Methodist Church will hold its annual Harvest Dinner on Oct. 8 from 4-6 p.m. at the church on Main Street. The dinner will include turkey with all the trimmings including homemade desserts and beverage. Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children and free for ages 4 and younger. All profits will go towards missions.

Ham and scalloped potatoes at Vernon Center UMC

VERNONCENT­ER>> The Vernon Center United Methodist Church will hold a ham and scalloped potato dinner on Oct. 22 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the church hall, 5185 Youngs Road. Menu features ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, squash, applesauce, rolls and butter, and pie for dessert (brownies for takeout orders). Tickets are $10 for adults; $6.50 for children 5-12; and free for ages 4 and younger.

Basket Bonanza at St. Peter’s Church

VERONA>> St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Basket Bonanza on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. Many baskets will be raffled featuring a variety of themes, along with two special raffles and a 50/50 raffle. A homemade lunch will be available. Baked goods will be for sale.

ONEIDA>> St. John’s Episcopal Church will hold its Harvest Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 12-4 p.m. Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberrie­s, carrots, biscuits and pie will be served family style along with coffee, orange drink and milk. Dinners are $11 for adults, $10 for seniors, $4 for children 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger. The church is located at 341 Main St. Take outs will be available.
