ONEIDA >> Evangeline (Eve) Jubanyik, 99, formerly of Oneida, N.Y., died on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at her caregiver’s home in Blossvale where she had resided for the past three years.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1917, in Oaklyn, N. J., a daughter of Felix and Mary De Santo D’Aloise. Mrs. Jubanyik graduated from Camden New Jersey Catholic High School and from the Charles Morris Price School of Journalism in Philadelph­ia.

She married Andrew Jubanyik on Dec. 20, 1942 at St. Joseph’s Church in East Camden, N. J. Mr. Jubanyik passed away on Aug. 2, 1997.

They lived in Merchantvi­lle, N. J. until 1962, when she left a lawoffice position and moved to Oneida, N.Y. when her husband joined Oneida Limited. A parishione­r of St. Patrick’s Church in Oneida, N.Y. since 1962, she had served as a Lector and Eucharisti­c Minister for many years, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. In 1965, she joined the Zonta Club of Oneida Area and later served as president. In 1974, she was elected to a two-year term as Governor of District 2, Zonta Internatio­nal, which included 22 clubs in New York State and three in Canada. As District Governor, she served on the Executive Board of Zonta Internatio­nal in Chicago. From 1962 until 1979, Eve was employed in Utica, N.Y., by William P. Donlon, widely known in numismatic circles for his mail-bid auctions of U.S. paper money dating from 1861. Mr. Donlon died in May 1979 and Mrs. Jubanyik handled the sale of the business and closed the office in December 1979. Shortly thereafter, she became executive vice-president of the Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce and remained until December 1983. In 1984, she became a volunteer in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program serving in the Counseling For the Elderly Program sponsored by the IRS for 20 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Nyman (Duane) of Deerfield, Mass.; three grandchild­ren, Richard Lounsbury (Brenda) of Knoxville, Tenn., John Lounsbury (Tanya) of Danville, N.H., and Elizabeth Nyman (Bryan Maleszyk) of Boston, Mass.; five greatgrand­children, Joshua and Andrew Lounsbury, Shelby and Ashley Lounsbury, and Alexandra Maleszyk; two sisters, Marie Wing of Webster, N.Y., and Therese Donlan of Ocean City, N. J., and several nieces and nephews. Eve was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Mary; her husband, Andrew; and her brothers, Felix and Lawrence D’Aloise.

Eve’s family wishes to express their gratitude to her caregiver, Sherry Congden and family, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 347 Main St., Oneida, where the Rev. Richard J. Kapral will officiate.
