Corned beef and cabbage served Saturday

VERNONCENT­ER >> Vernon Center United Methodist Church will hold a corned beef and cabbage dinner on March 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church, Youngs Road. The menu includes corned beef, cabbage, carrots, applesauce, marble rye bread and dessert. Take outs are available. The cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger. The church is handicappe­d accessible.

Annual Irish buffet set for March 11

VERONA>> The Verona United Methodist Church, 5694 Main St., will hold its annual Irish Buffet on March 11 from 4-6 p.m. The menu will include corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots, shepherd’s pie, Guinness stew, colcannon, root vegetable trio, Irish soda bread, scones with clotted cream, green desserts and beverages. Tickets are $9 for adults, $5 for children and free for children younger than 5.

Talent show will benefit Fiddlers’ Associatio­n

CAMDEN>> An Elvis impersonat­or, a Scottish piper, Scottish highland dancers, Appalachia­n cloggers and other acts await attendees at the Talent Showcase on Friday, March 10 from 7-11 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 132 Main St. Musicians, singers and dancers will share their talents to help the NYS Old Tyme Fiddlers’ Associatio­n build a food concession kitchen this summer. The donation for admission is $5 for adults; youths 16 and younger are admitted free. Desserts and baked will also be sold during the concert. Catholic Daughters will meet March 14

VERNON>> Catholic Daughters Court Our Lady 1250 will meet Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Holy Family Parish Center, 4552 Peterboro St. First on the agenda will be the presentati­on of awards to the winners of the court’s annual education contests. Recipients and their guests will be present to enjoy the celebratio­n of the winners’ works of inspiratio­n and creativity. Refreshmen­ts will be served followed by a brief meeting of the court. Marianne Eaton, Jill Niles and Noreen Morris and their committee are in charge of arrangemen­ts.

Special green drinks will be available to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Tickets are available at St. Agatha’s Parish Office or at St. Agatha’s before and after Masses the next two weeks. VERONA>> St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Christian Ministry for Seniors each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be coffee and conversati­on, Bible study, and at 10:30 a.m. a special program will be held. There will also be exercise and lunch at noon.
