Community Bank donates to MV EDGE
Mohawk Valley EDGE plays an active role in securing investments within Oneida County.
The Community Bank N.A. Rome branches recently presented Mohawk Valley EDGE with a $15,000 donation to support its economic development program, which helps local businesses grow and prosper in Oneida County.
In business for nearly 20 years, Mohawk Valley EDGE has played an active role in securing numerous investments within Oneida County, including the development of Marcy Nanocenter, agribusiness growth, STEM-intensive industries and effective year-round tourism initiatives. In 2016, Mohawk Valley EDGE assisted 35 local companies with grant benefits and provided general outreach to 225 businesses.
“As community members of Oneida County, our branch staff did not hesitate when presented with the opportunity to support Mohawk Valley EDGE,” Community Bank N. A. Commercial Banking Officer Dean Shlotzhauer said. “The EDGE organization has shown tremendous dedication to the resurgence of our region, and the eco- nomic impact of their efforts can be widely felt. It is a truly exciting time to be living in the Mohawk Valley, and we are honored to aid EDGE’s continued success.”
In addition to its business outreach efforts, EDGE has maintained a leadership role with the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council, helping the organization craft its award-winning 2016 action plan.
