Robert A. Crumb, 84, of Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND>> Robert A. Crumb, 84, of Westmoreland, passed away March 31, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with his loving wife by his side.
Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He touched many people throughout his life. We all have fond memories of the farm.
He was born, Sept. 11, 1932, in Utica, the son of Alex and Ida Durgee Crumb. Bob received his education in Clinton schools. He married Linda Hagues in 1956. Mr. Crumb was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a trustee of the Lairdsville United Methodist Church, a life member of the Clinton and Verona Fire Departments, and Past Master of the former Clinton Lodge F&AM (now Clinton-Hampton Lodge No. 347 F&AM).
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Cindy (Tom) Vollmer, Alan (Tammie) Crumb, Sue (John) Szkotak, and Gail (Gary) Whipple; grandchildren, Matt (Serenity) Vollmer, Phil (Sarah) Vollmer, Jay Vollmer, Jason and Tyler Crumb, Jeremy (Patrice) Kelly, Kyle and Alex Szkotak, and Andrew and Nicholas Whipple; great-grandchildren, Ely and Douglas; sister, Nancy (Ralph) Schmidt; additional loving family members, Carol Brower, Judy (Tom) McNaney, Stanley (Lynn) Hagues, and Walter (Shari) Hagues; and special friends, Zane and Raech- elle Elliot (Nora). He was predeceased by Joyce and Roy Philo, and Bill Brower.
Calling hours are Tuesday, 4-7 p.m., at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Memorial services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Lairdsville United Methodist Church, 6925 State Route 5, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, please remember the church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
