At the Clockville United Methodist Church there will be palms at the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. A Maundy Thursday Seder meal will take place similar to last year at 7 p.m. at the church with the public invited. Easter worship service is at 10:30 a.m.
The Whitelaw Presbyterian Church Palm Sunday Service is the day the church celebrates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and generally do so by carrying and waving of palm fronds.
Maundy Thursday at the Whitelaw Church the service is at 7 p.m. On this night they commemorate the supper Jesus shared with his disciples before His crucifixion, doing so through the sharing of confession and pardon, proclamation of the Word, the Lord’s Supper and stripping of the church.
Easter/Resurrection of the Lord Service at 9:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will be held in Fellowship Hall at 8 a.m. followed by worship at 9:30 a.m. The service represents the festival or holiday that took place celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having oc- curred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion at Calvary. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent, a 40 day period of prayer and penance.
Peterboro and Perryville United Methodist churches: Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on the green across from Deli on the Green at the monument area (meet at Peterboro UMC in inclement weather); Easter Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. at Peterboro UMC and 11 a.m. at Perryville UMC.
Canastota United Methodist Church Palm Sunday worship service at 9 a.m. with the distribution of palms. Easter Sunday morning worship at 9 a.m. with special music.
Canastota First Baptist Church, Palm Sunday service giving out palms at morning worship; Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m., celebration of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m. Special music includes a piano solo of the full “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s “Messiah” and harp solo, “How Beautiful” by Pastor Sally Eddy using her new harp as the other was lost in her 2015 house fire. A celebration of the Passover meal and Communion will be observed as part of the service.

Harmony in Nature
The Great Swamp Conservancy will bring a rhythmic pulse to Canastota today from 1-3:30 p.m. You are invited to hear nationally known folk/American singer Davey O. from Buffalo. He is equal parts songwriter and storyteller, playing his Gibson guitar and his no apologies rust belt work ethic. He has been awarded multiple honors among the “Best of” lists of several Folk & Roots radio stations. His constant dedication to the art of song craft with a journalist’s eye for detail and poet’s ear for the well-turned observation is well worth listening to. Each of his songs takes you on an adventure via music and words, strung along with common thread on this journey we are all on.
Come and join the GSC for an afternoon of “Har- mony in Nature.” This fundraiser is to benefit the conservation efforts of the Great Swamp Conservancy, Inc. “Wait Until Dark”
Rome Community Theater will present Frederick Knott’s “Wait Until Dark” today at 2:30 p.m.
Murder, secret identities and a switchblade named Geraldine set the stage for this white-knuckle thriller that will have you sleeping with the lights on. Susan, a blind woman, lives with her husband, Sam in a basement apartment in Greenwich Village. While away on business, Sam unknowingly smuggles a peculiar doll into the States. But when the doll goes missing, a woman is murdered and a mystery begins to unravel that leaves Susan tangled up with a ruthless con man in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children younger than 18 and are available at www.romecommunitytheater.org.

Lighthouse meeting
The Verona Beach Lighthouse Association will meet at Flo’s Diner on Route 31 today at 4 p.m. in the back room. Members will discuss upcoming events such as the Clean Sweep Weekend on Saturday, April 22.
Blocks & LEGO
The Cazenovia Public Library invites children ages 3 and older to the Community Room on Monday, April 10 for the chance to channel their inner architect and get building! Children’s Programming Coordinator Jenna Wright Martin will lead two hands-on sessions: Block Party at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3-5 and LEGO My Library at 3 p.m. for ages 5 and older. During the morning session, young architects will have access to the library’s collection of large wooden blocks and LEGO Duplo blocks. The afternoon program will feature a LEGO machine challenge and time for creative construction. The library is a place of imagination and discovery. Programs like Block Party and LEGO My Library allow children to socialize, be creative and see their imaginings come to life. Constructive toys offer significant educational benefits to children of all ages. Not only is hands-on play fun and exciting but it also helps to develop motor and social skills, ingenuity, critical thinking, and language proficiency.
College Webinar Series
The Cazenovia Public Library will host a College Webinar Series on Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Renee Joseph, independent education consultant and founder of Majorly Me, LLC will lead both events. Session I: The Recruited College Athlete will feature a brief presentation by Joseph followed by a webinar by college sports advisor Harry Rosenholtz. Session II: SAT vs. ACT, Which is Right for Your Student? will include a webinar by Natalie Murphree, SAT and ACT test preparation specialist for Applerouth Tutoring.
Refreshments will be provided. All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public.

Wednesday, April 12, After-school Science: The Solar Eclipse at 4:30 p.m. Elementary school students can start learning about the solar eclipse scheduled for Aug. 21 by practicing with shadows and light and learning the science behind the eclipse.
