The Church of the Nazarene services today include an 8 a.m. breakfast followed by a worship service, an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. and an additional worship service at 11 a.m.
Patriot’s Day
The Cazenovia Public Library will present two free screenings of “Patriot’s Day” on Monday, April 17 at 3:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room. The film will be presented in commemoration of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and in celebration of the strength of the people of Boston.
The drama based on the book “Boston Strong” by Casey Sherman, Dave Sherman and Dave Wedge, documents the Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent terrorist manhunt. “Patriot’s Day” stars Mark Wahlberg, J.K. Simmons, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon and Michelle Moneghan. The film is rated R and runs 133 minutes. Free popcorn is provided.
Spring break programs
The Cazenovia Public Library is offering fun and educational kid-friendly activities for children over the spring break.
Kitchen Chemistry: Slime on Monday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. Children ages 5 and older will work with Ms. Jenna to mix up a batch or two of slime from common household ingredients. All materials will be provided.
Curious Kids: Make Your Own Museum on Wednesday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. Children ages 7-12 are invited to visit the library’s new WonderCabinet and meet the famous collectors of the Renaissance and 18th-19th century America. Participants will learn about these early collections through a fast-paced and entertaining card game. They will then use their newfound knowledge to design and paint their own museum displays. Next, participants will have a chance to take a peek at the library’s extensive bird and nest collection. Based on their observations, they will use a variety of materials to create “wonder jars” — complete with nest, birds and eggs — to take home.
Explorer Day — Papier Mache Animals on Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Ms. Jenna will lead children ages 5 and older in a two-day workshop. On Thursday, participants will form papier-mache animal creations and on Friday they will paint and decorate their sculptures. All materials will be provided. Dress to get messy.

Sherrill-Kenwood Library
For the week of school recess, April 17-22, the following events have been planned.
April 18 at 1 p.m., Bird House Painting. Please call to register as space is limited.
April 19 at 1:30 p.m., Classic Cartoons and Jenga/Lego Day.
April 20 at 6 :30 p.m., Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Join them for sleepy talks and leave your animals with us for the night.
April 22 at 1 p.m. Earth Day Story Hour and Nature Craft.
Mixed media workshop
Registration is underway at Oneida Public Li- brary for the upcoming mixed media art “Branching Out: Acrylics, Watercolors, Prints,” a free adult art class taught by artist and teacher Carol Cotten and starting Wednesday, April 19 from 9:3011:30 a.m. for the first of five weekly sessions.
Cotten will introduce adult students to printmaking techniques that involve acrylic paint and watercolors along with the use of brayers and the preparation of surfaces.
Cotten, who retired from teaching art in the Camden Central School District in 2004, has been conducting art workshops for children and adults at the OPL and other places in the region for many years. She has exhibited he own art, especially her watercolors, at many small regional galleries and libraries, including the OPL.
The class, limited to 20 adults, will meet Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on April 19 and 26 as well as May 3, 10 and 17. Those interested can register at the circulation desk at the library, 220 Broad St. or call (315) 363-3050.
Students should dress in old clothes or bring aprons or smocks for the classes and bring with them their own watercolors and brushes. Acrylics, paper and brayers will be provided.
Afternoon Book Club
The Afternoon Book Club at Cazenovia Public Library will hold its next meeting in the Story Garden Room on Wednesday, April 19 at 1 p.m. The group will discuss “The Children Act” (2014) by Ian McEwan.
Fiona Maye is a 59 year old High Court judge who presides over cases in the family court. Her professional success stands in stark contrast to her private sorrow and domestic strife. Fiona’s imploding marriage is put on the back burner when she takes on an emergency case that puts the beliefs on Jehovah’s Witnesses on trial.
