MADISON18, STOCKBRIDG­EVALLEY 2>> The Blue Devils pounded out 15 hits including doubles by Tyler Hummer and Alex Cotter and also capitalize­d on 12 Cougars errors to earn a win in their first full game of the season. WESTHILL5, CHITTENANG­O1>> Michael Culkin’s RBI double gave Chittenang­o a 1- 0 lead in the third but Westhill rallied with a run in the sixth to tie before scoring four in the seventh to take the victory. Culkin went 2-for-3 with two doubles in the loss.

Softball

ONEIDA11, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 1 >> Oneida scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, pounding out 10 hits in the victory to improve to 3-0. STOCKBRIDG­EVALLEY5, MADISON 4 (9 INNINGS) >> Catherine Meeker drove in Elizabeth Collins with a sacrifice fly for the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Cougars and a hard ground ball from Meeker in the bottom of the ninth scored Collins again for the walk-off victory.

Boys Tennis

ONEIDA 5, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 2 >> Oneida swept the singles points in straight sets and Austin Keller and Noah Savage teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 first-doubles victory for the visitors. HAMILTON4, CLINTON1>> Joy Valencia and Aidan Woods teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 first doubles victory to help the Emerald Knights post their second win in two matches this season.

Boys Lacrosse

CLINTON 8, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 5 >> Matt Ciotti and Ben Peterson scored two goals apiece for the Red Devils in defeat. CHRISTIAN BROTHERS ACADEMY 18, CHITTENANG­O 7 >> Grant Czarnecki led the Bears offense with two goals and an assist in defeat.

HAMILTON 11, REMSEN 6 >> The Emerald Knights jumped out to a 5- 0 firstinnin­g lead and added four insurance runs in the top of the seventh to pull away for the victory. John Griffith and Mike Kelly had two hits apiece in the victory, with Kelly driving in two runs and scoring another. VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 23, CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 1 (6 INNINGS) >> Davey Moffett and Andrew Roden slugged two home runs apiece for the Red Devils in the victory in their season opener and Moffett drove in seven runs.

Softball

MADISON 23, CINCINNATU­S 6 (5 INNINGS) >> The Blue Devils scored multiple runs in every inning to back Courtney Cochran, who struck out five in her three innings of work. Kierston Abrams led the offense with a 4-for-5 effort with four runs and four RBI while Elisa Usborne went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI.

MEXICO 5, ONEIDA 2 >> Ajay Hicks and Kevin Spooner each won their third set 6-0 in third and fourth singles, respective­ly, but it wasn’t enough for Oneida in its first loss of the season. MORRISVILL­E- EATON 5, MOUNT MARKHAM 0 >> Alex Scoville’s 10- 0 third singles victory helped M-E earn the win and improve to 2-0 in Center State Conference II play. CAZENOVIA 4, PHOENIX 1 >> Nate and Mitch Romig posted 6-0, 6-0 victories in first and second singles, respective­ly for the Lakers.

CANASTOTA 83, ORISKANY 58; CANASTOTA1­00, POLAND 41; CANASTOTA 109, FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 32 >> Chris Cafferella posted first-place finishes in the 200 (25.1) and triple jump (35-11.5) for the Raiders in the victory.

Girls Track and Field

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 79, CAMDEN 61; VVS 96, NEW HARTFORD 44; CAMDEN 89, NEW HARTFORD 51 >> Elizabeth Lucason took first in three events for the Blue Devils, winning the 1500 (5:07.4), 800 (2:29.8) and 3000 (10:45.2) while Katja Meyer was victorious in the long jump (17-10.5) and triple jump (32-10) to help the Red Devils sweep the tri-meet. ONEIDA 84, WHITESBORO 56; ROME FREE ACADEMY 117, ONEIDA 24 >> Julianna Cavanagh’s first-place finish in the long jump (1610) helped Oneida split the tri-meet. CANASTOTA7­8, FRANKFORTS­CHUYLER 40; CANASTOTA 78, POLAND 49; CANASTOTA 82, ORISKANY49>> McKenzie Leahey won the 100 (13.2) and long jump (14-6.5) for the Raiders and teammate Devin Lee Robinson added first-place finishes in the 200 (27.7) and triple jump

(32-5). MORRISVILL­E- EATON 52, NEWYORKMIL­LS 42, LITTLE FALLS 40, MADISON 1 >> Makenzie Hirsch took first in the 100 (13.2) and 200 (28.2) for M-E while teammate Alyssa Smalley was also a double winner with victories in the long jump (153) and triple jump (32-5.5).

CAZENOVIA 18, BISHOP LUDDEN5 >> Chloe Willard once again led a potent Lakers attack with six goals and four assists while team- mate Keara Dwyer netted four and Lucy Connor added three in the victory.

Boys Golf

ONEIDA 247, CAMDEN 259 >> Jack Kallet shot a 42 to help Oneida pick up its first victory of the season while Riley Scott’s 45 led Camden in defeat.

Girls Golf

CAMDEN 222, ONEIDA 253 >> Danielle Caringi shot a 47 for the Blue Devils in the victory at McConnells­ville.
