Pancakes served at Madison UMC
MADISON>> Madison United Methodist Church will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday, April 29 from 7-10 a.m. at the church, Route 20. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, home fries, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for ages 5-12.
Rummage and bake sale at Christ Church
SHERRILL>> Christ Church United Methodist will hold a rummage and bake sale on Friday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday, April 29 there will be a $1 bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon on rummage sale items. The church is located at 417 Park St.

ONEIDA>> The Tri-Valley Masonic Lodge at 611 Stone St. will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. until noon. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Rainbow Girls Fidelity Assembly No. 30. Pancakes (plain, chocolate chip or gluten free), scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, orange juice and coffee are on the menu. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 4-12, and free for ages 3 and younger.
Women’s retreat offered May6
ONEIDA>> First Presbyterian Church will hold a women’s retreat, “Rooted in Faith,” on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 304 Broad St. The theme will be the beauty of nature and spring and the growing of beauty around us and in ourselves. Guest speakers will discuss soap making and well-being. Participants will relax with simple yoga techniques. A lunch will be served using fresh foods to nourish body and soul. Swiss steak dinner served May 6
VERNON>> Vernon United Methodist Church, Route 5, will hold a Swiss steak dinner on Saturday, May 6 from 4-6:30 p.m. The menu will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, beverages and homemade pies. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger. Take outs are available by calling (315) 8293535. The church is handicapped accessible. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit a local mission.

LAIRDSVILLE>> Lairdsville United Methodist Church (the Church with the Red Doors) will hold a rummage and bake sale on Fri- day, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a bag sale on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located on Route 5. Clothing, toys, glassware and household items will be available.

Craft festival seeks vendors
RICHFIELD SPRINGS>> Applications are now being accepted for the 38th Annual Friendship Craft Festival sponsored by the Church Of Christ Uniting that will take place Saturday, June 10 in Spring Park on US Route 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to area crafters, the event will feature a bake sale, a Brooks’ Chicken BBQ from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a food booth sponsored by the Richfield Springs Rotary Club. Senior ministry offered Wednesdays

Friendship Inn open each Thursday
MORRISVILLE >> Friendship Inn at St. Joan of Arc Church offers a free weekly meal to the Mor- risville community every Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. Non-denominational and open to all, regardless of financial need, Friendship Inn draws on a small army of volunteers who fulfill numerous tasks, from set-up, cooking, serving, to clean-up. Volunteers are always needed. Donations are welcome as well to supplement food offerings and to purchase equipment and supplies. Clothing donations accepted at St. John’s Church
ONEIDA>> St. John’s Episcopal Church, 341 Main St., has been chosen by St. Pauly Textile, Inc. as a repository for used clothing. St. Pauly’s mission is to provide wearable clothing to people who need it, both in the United States and Third World countries. Items that can be collected include clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets, curtains and stuffed toys. No rags or fabric scraps, pillows, toys or household goods are accepted. Donations are not cut up or shredded. Items should be placed in plastic bags (no larger than 13 gal. size) and placed in the chute of the shed located on St. John’s driveway. Donations are acceptable any time of the day or night. This mission has provided more than 30 million garments to people all over the world who are in need.
