Four Directions takes 2nd place
VERNON » Four Directions Productions has been awarded second place in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) documentary competition, “Storytelling about Health and Wellness in American Indian and Alaska Native Communities.”
Four Directions’ film submittal, “Return to Wellness,” tells the story of Oneida Indian struggles to blend the old medicine indigenous ways with today’s needs for more modern organized health care.
The NIH’s goal was to develop a brief digital story that communicates how traditions and heritage promote health in American Indians and Alaska Natives. The NIH invited the public throughout the U.S. to participate in this challenge to share stories about how heritage and tradition leads to health and wellness in Native American communities; and how future research can improve the health in those communities.
Jim Loperfido, business consultant for 4D, said, “This film is representative of the award-winning work 4D has accomplished in the last five or six years.”
He added, “The company is made up of young dedicated artists who pride themselves on delivering great messages.”
