Brian P. Sansone, 77, of Naples, Fla. and Sherrill
NAPLES FLA./SHERRILL » Brian P. Sansone, age 77, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Vernon Center, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning June 11, 2017. Brian passed at his daughter’s and son-in-law’s home in Sherrill; the home he called his summer home in New York.
Born in Oneida, N.Y. on Feb. 10, 1940, he was a son of the late Frank and Eileen (McAllister) Sansone and grandson of the late Elmer A. and Anna McAllister, former principal of McAllister Elementary School of Sherrill. Brian was a 1960 graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School and then served with the U.S. Army for two years.
Prior to his retirement in 2006, Brian was employed for over 22 years with the utilities department of Collier County, Fla. His memberships included the Moose Club and the American Legion Post 135 of Naples, Fla.
He was married to Elizabeth Havner and from that marriage the couple had three children and their families, including two daughters and two sonsin-law, Susan (Jeffrey) Bee of Severna Park, Md., Amy (Dan) Stone of Sherrill; a son, Brian F. Sansone of Oneida; grandchildren, Matthew (Tania) Stone and Morgan Stone of Sherrill, Taylor and Lauren Bee of Severna Park, Md.; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Sophie Emerson of Sherrill and Emersyn Novak, of Severna Park, Md.; longtime companion, Marlene Robinson of Naples, Fla.; twin brother, Bruce V. (Mary) Sansone of Tennessee and Lynn E. Sansone of Connecticut, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Robert Burdick and his caring staff for the comfort given to Brian and his family during this very difficult time. The family also thanks Pam Reese for her extra care and Hospice and Palliative Care and their staff of Cheryl, Karen, Jan and Irene for their compassionate care shown to Brian during his stay in Sherrill.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Plymouth Alliance Church, 169 Kinsley St., Sherrill, N.Y. 13461. A memorial service to celebrate Brian’s life will follow immediately following the calling hours at 12:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kurt Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Helena’s Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, N.Y.
