VERNONCENT­ER » Alan Leroy Williamson, age 60, passed away unexpected­ly Saturday afternoon, Aug. 5, 2017, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, with his loving wife by his side after being stricken ill at home.

He was born on April 16, 1957, in Oneida, N.Y., son of Elinor T. (Skinner) Williamson and the late Richard H. Williamson. He was a graduate of Vernon-Vernon-Sherrill High School.

On May 15, 1976, Alan and Donna Henry were united in marriage in Vernon, N.Y., and have shared this union of over 41 years together.

Alan was a lifelong resident of Vernon Center. He attended the Vernon Center United Methodist Church.

Alan leaves behind his wife, Donna Williamson of Vernon Center; one son, Alan L. Williamson Jr. and his wife, Kelly; one daughter, April Bon- fardice; his three grandchild­ren; his mother, Elinor Williamson; his six brothers, Dick (Joyce), Thomas, Cecil, Jay, Matthew (Mary), and Eric; his one sister, Roberta (Greg) Borek; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Vernon Center United Methodist Church with Pastor Wendy M. Morrison officiatin­g. A gathering to celebrate Alan’s life will be held at the Vernon Center Fire House immediatel­y after. Please bring a dish to pass. Burial will be private and at the family’s convenienc­e.
