MORRISVILLE-EATON/HAMILTON1, SACKETSHARBOR0 » Emily LeBlanc’s lone goal in the second half of play was enough to send Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton the Section III Class D semfinals against Poland. Lauren Rodrieguez and the ME/H defense recorded the second shutout of the postseason on Friday night in the victory over Sackets Harbor to hand the visitors just their third loss of the season.
Thursday’s Results Girls Tennis
For the second consecutive year, Brianna Laureti and Lauren Skibitski will represent Oneida at the New York State individual doubles championships after the duo won the championship consolation at qualifiers in Drumlins.
Laureti and Skibitski took down a Cazenovia team of Laura Connor and Julia Silverman 6-2, 6-0 in the first round before shutting out Manlius Pebble Hill’s combo of Lily Grenis and Louisa Morrow 6- 0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
Oneida’s tandem fell to Mikayla Mannara and Katie Viau in the semifinals 6-4, 6-1, but bounced back in consolation round to defeat Grace Conye and Mikayla Santulli 6-1, 6-4. Coincidentally, Laureti and Skibitskis’s final victory on Thursday avenged another Oneida duo’s, Julianna Cavanagh and Anna Hood, defeat to the Christian Brother’s Academy pair.

WATERVILLE 7, STOCKBRIDGE VALLEY 0 » After pulling off an impressive upset over No. 2 seed Fabius-Pompey on Thursday, No. 15 seed Stockbridge Valley fell to No. 7 seed Waterville on Friday. Anna Beach scored twice to help power Waterville to the Section III Class D quarterfinal victory.

ONEIDA 35, SOLVAY 30 » Oneida staved off a fourthquarter rally by Solvay to hold on for a 35-30 victory in crossover play on Thursday night. Henry Froass hauled in four touchdown passes, including the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter after Solvay’s rally briefly gave the visitors the lead.
