VERNON » TheAmerican Legion William Russell Post 404 held its annual installation of officers Saturday, May 5 at Dibble’s Inn, officiated by George Dorn, Oneida County American Legion Commander.
Monica Strife was elected president of the American Legion Post 404 Auxiliary.

Slade Yoxall was elected commander of the Sons of The American Legion. Slade is George Slade’s younger brother and their father was a past-commander of Post 404.

The William Russell Post 404 was founded in 1920 in the name of World War I veteran William Russell, an area native. Members include veterans of America’s Armed Forces, sons of vet- erans and auxiliary members. All units support numerous veterans’ and civic programs in Central New York.
