Father Kapral a true spiritual leader
Thank You Father Kapral We’d like to offer a little different spin this Father’s Day to the honor Rev. Richard Kapral, who epitomizes humility and wisdom in his daily duties for greater Oneida’s Catholic communities. A decade ago, Fr. Kapral gracefully accepted the task to pastor both St. Joseph and St. Patrick parishes, including their numerous faith outreaches, and has done an exceptionally inspirational job.
With Deacon Jim Chappell’s assistance, and phenomenal teams at both parishes, Oneida has become a modern model for what is possible for Catholicism in the Northeast. More importantly, it is for us a living embodiment of the Holy Spirit and all that is good, so if you are searching for a positive life experience, it’s right here!
Here’s hoping for a healthy future for you Fr. Kapral, and for our extended spiritual family.
SupportUtica’s downtown hospital
On Thursday, June 7, 2018, the Central and Northern New York Building and Construction Trades Council held a rally at the state office building to support the construction of a new downtown hospital.
This was a great opportunity to take advantage of the $300 million the state is allocating for a “state of the art” hospital and to help revitalize downtown Utica.
All our members volunteered to participate in this rally because we fear that if this project does not move forward, we will lose the state funding. We also feel that a hospital located in the heart of downtownwill revive the area and encourage development of other businesses and housing.
Based on meetings held with the building trades and future developers, the opportunity of future projects and investing is dependent on the progression of the downtown hospital and the surrounding area.
We will continue to dedicate our time attending future rallies in order to bring awareness to the impact that a newhospital would have on our community as a whole.
From an organization that respects all other opinions, we were disappointed to see the false accusations and photo shopped pictures from the rally. These were posted by another group to intentionally reflect poorly on our members.
The building trades will continue to support our local community in a respectful manner and advocate for better healthcare for all. cating to our community, learning English as a newlanguage, struggling with disabilities, or having been incarcerated.
Some adult students persevere for many years to earn their diplomas. They are positive role models for their families and our community and are now enrolled in local colleges, have obtained new and better employment, or entered a vocational training program. We support our students regardless of what their issues or challenges may be and celebrate their success. We provide adult basic education, high school equivalency preparation and English as a newlanguage classes, as well as case management at no cost to the student.
