SYRACUSE 16, SHERRILL 11 » Trailing the Sherrill Silversmiths 11-9 in the bottom of ninth, the Syracuse Spartans rallied for seven runs in the bottom half of the frame to pull off the unlikely win. The Spartans come-from-behind win spoils a night in which four Silversmiths hit homers. Andrew Roden, Matt Elliot, Matt Fitzgerald, and Chris Turco knocked out homers for Sherrill, The Spartans also had four players with homers, bringing the total to eight for the contest.

SYRACUSE 13, SHERRILL 5 » The Syracuse Salt Cats plated 11 runs in the first three innings of Thursday’s New York Collegiate Baseball League en route to a 13-5 win over the Sherrill Silversmiths. Sean Lawlor drove in four runs for the Salt Cats in the win. The Silversmiths were paced Matt Krause’s 2-for-3, two RBI day at the plate.

SHERRILL 6, ADREAN5 » Sherrill Post 230 put three runners across in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 lead before Adrean Post 625 answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to force extras on Wednesday night in District 5 play. Then, in the top of the ninth, coach Barry VanDreason’s plated the go-ahead run to take a 6-5 advantage before locking up the win half an inning later. Zach Nell went 4-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI for Sherrill in the win. Lukas Albro went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. Tyler Rotach added a triple and a pair of RBI as Post 230 closed the regular season with a win.

ROME11, SHERRILL 5 » The Rome Generals used a six-run seventh inning to pull away from the Sherrill Silversmiths for an 11-5 win in NYCBL action on Wednesday. Joe Bramanti went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI to lead Rome at the plate. Vito Castronovo, Andrew Roden and Robert Armitage all drove in a run for the Silversmiths in the loss. Sherrill’s Connor VanDreason went for six innings on the hill, yielding five earned on nine hits. The Silversmith bullpen combined to allow six earned on nine hits in three innings of relief. Shaun Gamelin earned the victory for Rome, allowing three runs (two earned) in six innings.
