Barry Funeral Home has donated $1000to support the Rome Twigs Tree of Light campaign.

ROME, N.Y. >> Barry Funeral Home is the corporate sponsor of the Rome Twigs Tree of Lights 2018 campaign. The company has donated $1,000 to the Twigs fundraiser for Rome Memorial Hospital. A visible symbol of the season, the Tree of Lights project began in 1989.

The Tree of Lights reception and ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 in the hospital lobby. At 7 p.m., guests will move outside to light the tree. Pastor Sam Pendergrast of Rome’s First Presbyterian Church will be honored for his years of devoted ser- vice to the community. A scroll displaying the names of donors and their honored persons will be displayed at the event.

Contributions to the Tree of Lights campaign help the Twigs, a not-for-profit organization, continue its long tradition of dedicated service in support of the hospital and its mission. All donations are tax deductible and all monies are used for the purchase of hospital equipment and to support programs of the hospital. Last year’s Tree of Lights campaign raised more than $10,000. Those dollars, along with other monies raised by the Twigs, go toward programs that contribute to patient comfort and care at Rome Memorial Hospital.

Individuals may purchase lights to honor a living person, remember a deceased loved one, or express thanks; each light on the tree represents a gift of love and remembrance. In order to be included on the scroll, donations of $5.00 or more for a light must be received by noon on Friday, Nov. 16, addressed to Rome Memorial Hospital, Attention Tree of Lights ,1500 N. James St., Rome, N.Y. 13440. Make checks payable to Rome Twigs.
