Heal­ing vet­er­ans through mu­sic Mary Gau­thier, who works with vet­er­ans to help the ex­press their emo­tions, is per­form­ing at the EOH .

EAR­LVILLE, N.Y. >> The Ear­lville Opera House will present the leg­endary Mary Gau­thier on the EOHM a in­stage Fri­day, Nov. 9at 7 p.m., with opener Jaimee Har­ris.

“My job as a song­writer is to find that thing a soul needs to say,” said Gau­thier, who works with vet­er­ans to help them ex­press their emo­tions through song. “Each re­treat I host brings to­gether a dozen or so soldiers and four song­writ­ers, three songs each in two days. We don’t have a choice. We have to stay fo­cused, lis­ten care­fully, and make sure ev­ery vet­eran gets their own song. And we al­ways do.”

Open­ing for Gau­thier is Jaimee Har­ris, who grew up in Waco, Texas, a child to young high school sweet­heart par­ents. When she was 5 years old, her fa­ther no­ticed she had taken an in­ter­est in mu­sic, and got her a gui­tar for Christ­mas. Soon af­ter, she dis­cov­ered Em­my­louHar­ris and Fleet­wood Mac.

Tick­ets are $33 gen­eral ad­mis­sion, $30 for mem­bers, half off gen­eral ad­mis­sion for col­lege stu­dents, and $10 for youths 17 and younger. The Ear­lville Opera House is lo­cated at 18 E.
