Thanksgivi­ng service

Oneida — The Oneida Area Christian Churches Council will hold the annual community-wide ecumenical Thanksgivi­ng Service at the Oneida First United Methodist Church, corner of Main and Grove streets, on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. Representa­tives from area churches will conduct the service, which is open to all area residents. Members of the Oneida Area Civic Chorale, under the direction of Kimberly Nethaway, of Rome, will provide special music for the service, including “Let All Creation Sing His Praise”, by Joseph M. Martin, “Hymn for America”, by Stephen Paulus and “Prayer” by Arthur Frackenpoh­l. A freewill offering will be taken at the service, and those attending are asked to bring donations of boxed and canned goods for the area food pantry.

Oneida Area Industries meeting

Oneida — The annual meeting of shareholde­rs of Oneida Area Industries, Inc has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 5 pm. at the Oneida Public Library. Stockholde­r’s packets have been mailed and recipients are asked to return the enclosed proxy as soon as possible in an effort to reach a quorum for the meeting. Oneida area industries was Establishe­d in 1960 for the purpose of allowing residents and businesses to purchase shares in “Oneida’s future.” The money is used to assist new and existing industry and servicerel­ated employers. Dinner and music for seniors

Utica — The Resource Center for Independen­t Living (RCIL) invites local seniors and their caregivers to dinner and live music on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4- 6 p.m. at the Dorothy Smith Center for Advocacy at RCIL, 1607 Genesee St., Utica. This free event will provide an opportunit­y for seniors and their caregivers to get out of the house and enjoy an event together, where they will enjoy a catered dinner and live music by Don Deluca. Canastota/Lenox Seniors

Canastota — The Canastota/Lenox Seniors will hold their annual Thanksgivi­ng Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 15, beginning promptly at noon at the VFW Hall, 3835 Canal Road Canastota. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Turkey will be furnished by the club.

Wampsville— TheMadison County Health Department will offer an immunizati­on clinic at their offices, 138 N. Court St. Building 5, Wampsville, on Friday, Nov. 16, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

St. Pat’s Fall Bazaar

Chittenang­o — St. Pat- rick’s Church, Chittenang­o, will host its annual Fall Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 17. The festival will take place at the church (1341 Murray Drive) from11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Highlights will include: gift basket raffles, a variety of crafters, a country store with fresh baked goods, live music, a chance wheel, and contests and games for children in the music corner. There will be a grand raffle with a top prize of $1,000. Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase throughout the day.

Rainbow Girls fundraiser

Oneida — The Tri-Valley Masonic Lodge, at 611 Stone St., Oneida, will host a breakfast and pie sale on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8-11 a.m. for the chapters affiliated Rainbow Girls. The girls are raising funds to help pay for their state convention. The all-you-can-eat menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon/sausage and a drink. Adults pay $8, kids ages 4-12 pay $4, and children under 4 eat free. Pies and fall breads will be available for purchase as well.

Verona holiday craft show

Verona — The Verona United Methodist Church, 5694 Main St., will hold its 26th annual Holiday Craft Show on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year will include a flea market, and space is still available. There will also be a bake sale table and a luncheon with hot dogs, tuna sandwich, and egg salad sand- wich all with chips. Sausage, peppers and onions, chili, vegetable soup, potato salad, rice pudding and beverages will also be available.

Hawks and raptors

New York Mills — At the Nov. 18 meeting of the Kirkland Bird Club, Professor Chris Briggs will give a programon Swainson’s Hawks and Raptor Ecology. Before becoming an adjunct professor of biology at Hamilton College, Briggs was the research director at the Golden Gate Raptor Observator­y. This program will feature Briggs’ work with Swainson’s Hawks and the effects pesticides have had on their population. He will also discuss how some widely used pesticides are affecting raptors in general. This program is free and open to the public. The program/meeting will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the New York Mills Community Room, 320 Main St., New York Mills.

Booklovers Club reception

Hamilton — On Nov. 20 from 6-7 p.m., the Booklovers Club Annual Reception will provide free books to attendees. Enjoy locally made refreshmen­ts and receive expert personal assistance while shopping for the holidays.

Clinton Historical Society open house

Clinton — The Clinton Historical Society, at 1 Fountain St., Clinton, will host an open house from 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, during the annual Clinton Shoppers Stroll. This 19th century celebratio­n will feature homemade Victorian Christmas treats and a Christmas tree decorated in handcrafte­d Victorian ornaments and sparkling lights. Warm winter punch, vintage holiday music and gift shop items will also be available. Children will receive a free gift and from4-7 p.m. Father Christmas will attend.

Christmas at the Corner

Clinton — Christmas at the Corner will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, at Stone Presbyteri­an Church, 8 S. Park Row, Clinton, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Seven C’s Café, the Fair Trade Shop and the Bake Shop will be open all day. Oneida Castle yard clean up

Oneida Castle — The village of Oneida Castle will hold its annual fall yard clean up Nov. 26-30. Residents must place all yard debris at curbside and may include limbs up to two inches in diameter. All leaves must be bagged for pick up.
