‘Voices of Light’ cel­e­brates silent film

HAMIL­TON, N.Y. >> On Fri­day, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Col­gate Me­mo­rial Chapel, the Col­gate Univer­sity Cho­rus and Guest Orches­tra will present Richard Ein­horn’s ora­to­rio “Voices of Light” un­der the ba­ton of Dr. R. Ryan En­dris, as­sis­tant pro­fes­sor of mu­sic and di­rec­tor of Choral & Vo­cal Ac­tiv­i­ties.

“Voices of Light/ The Pas­sion of Joan of Arc” merges Carl Theodor Dreyer’s silent film­mas­ter­piece “The Pas­sion of Joan of Arc” with a live per­for­mance of a new work by com­poser Richard Ein­horn.

This per­for­mance is pre­sented in con­junc­tion with the Film andMe­dia Stud­ies pro­gra­mand with sup­port from the Col­gate Arts Coun­cil and Fac­ulty Devel­op­ment Coun­cil. There will be at pre-con­cert lec­ture pre­sented by the com­poser at 2:45 p.m. that same day in Golden Au­di­to­rium (105 Lit­tle Hall, Col­gate Univer­sity).
