Christmas bake sale

Oneida — The Oneida Baptist Church Christmas gift and bake sale will be Friday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, from9a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 242 Main St. Christmas decoration­s, new and like-new gifts, jewelry, toys, and other items will be available.

Live Nativity

Utica — The Good News Center will host a Live Nativity on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 4-7 p.m. Also available for viewing will be 40-plus Nativity sets from around the world and Central New York. Activities will be available for children and free refreshmen­ts will be provided. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted to benefit Hope House in the form of toiletries as well as hats, scarves and mittens for children in need. Master’s Touch Chorale

Bridgepor t — The Bridgeport United Methodist Church and Master’s Touch Chorale will host a spaghetti dinner and Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the church, 377 Route 31. Dinner will be 4- 6 p.m. and cost $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for those under age 5. The concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. and a free will offering will be taken.

Advent celebratio­n

Oneida — On Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m., St. Patrick’s Church, 347 Main St, Oneida, the Oneida Catholic Community will host a special Advent evening. The public is invited to come and join the journey of a child that begins with Zechariah, and travels from Nazareth to Bethlehem to Egypt and back to Nazareth. It is a journey that will be alongside shepherds and angels, kings andMagi, told in word and song and light. All are welcome regardless of denominati­on or faith journey.

Advent Penance service

Oneida — On Dec. 9 at 4 p.m., at St. Joseph Church, 121 St. Joseph Place, Oneida, the Oneida Catholic Community will hold its annual Advent Penance Service.

Advent is a time to prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus. As worshipers await the coming of Jesus, they remember this is a time of faith in God, hope for the future, and love for one another. All are invited to come and celebrate the reconcilin­g love and healing graces that the Lord offers.

Court Our Lady meeting

Oneida — Court Our Lady Catholic Daughters 1250 will meet on Tuesday evening, Dec. 11, in St. Joseph’s Parish Center, Oneida at 7 pm. In anticipati­on of Christmas, members will create an Advent wreath and continue its Christmas tradition of putting money on the mitten tree for the needy. Christmas music and refreshmen­ts will be provided. An important business meeting will follow to review and decide on court issues. Eleanor Cmaylo and Shirlet Kristan are in charge of arrangemen­ts.

DDSO upcoming services

Sherrill — December’s DDSO service will be Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m. All services are held at Christ Church, 417 Park St., Sherrill. The public is welcome to attend.

Christmas Eve service

Utica — The Rev. Erin Djka Holley will lead the Unitarian Universali­st Church of Utica’s Christmas Eve candleligh­t service at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 10 Higby Road. The theme of the evening is “hope.” Come sing carols and be in a company of good cheer. All are welcome.

Mass times changed

Chittenang­o — Recently, Mass times at St. Patrick’s Church, Chittenang­o, have changed. Saturday vigil is at 4 p.m. Sunday service is at 10:30 a.m., and there is no longer an 8 a.m. Mass.
