Oneida — The Oneida Bap­tist Church Christ­mas gift and bake sale will be Fri­day, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Satur­day, Dec. 8, from9a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 242 Main St. Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions, new and like-new gifts, jew­elry, toys, and other items will be avail­able.

Live Na­tiv­ity

Utica — The Good News Cen­ter will host a Live Na­tiv­ity on Satur­day, Dec. 8, from 4-7 p.m. Also avail­able for view­ing will be 40-plus Na­tiv­ity sets from around the world and Cen­tral New York. Ac­tiv­i­ties will be avail­able for chil­dren and free re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided. The event is free and open to the pub­lic, but dona­tions will be ac­cepted to ben­e­fit Hope House in the form of toi­letries as well as hats, scarves and mit­tens for chil­dren in need. Mas­ter’s Touch Cho­rale

Bridge­por t — The Bridge­port United Methodist Church and Mas­ter’s Touch Cho­rale will host a spaghetti din­ner and Christ­mas con­cert on Satur­day, Dec. 8, at the church, 377 Route 31. Din­ner will be 4- 6 p.m. and cost $10 for adults, $9 for se­niors, $5 for chil­dren ages 6-12, and free for those un­der age 5. The con­cert will take place at 6:30 p.m. and a free will of­fer­ing will be taken.

Ad­vent cel­e­bra­tion

Oneida — On Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m., St. Pa­trick’s Church, 347 Main St, Oneida, the Oneida Catholic Com­mu­nity will host a spe­cial Ad­vent evening. The pub­lic is in­vited to come and join the jour­ney of a child that be­gins with Zechariah, and trav­els from Nazareth to Beth­le­hem to Egypt and back to Nazareth. It is a jour­ney that will be along­side shep­herds and an­gels, kings andMagi, told in word and song and light. All are wel­come re­gard­less of de­nom­i­na­tion or faith jour­ney.

Ad­vent Pe­nance ser­vice

Oneida — On Dec. 9 at 4 p.m., at St. Joseph Church, 121 St. Joseph Place, Oneida, the Oneida Catholic Com­mu­nity will hold its an­nual Ad­vent Pe­nance Ser­vice.

Ad­vent is a time to pre­pare for the com­ing of the Lord Je­sus. As wor­shipers await the com­ing of Je­sus, they re­mem­ber this is a time of faith in God, hope for the fu­ture, and love for one an­other. All are in­vited to come and cel­e­brate the rec­on­cil­ing love and heal­ing graces that the Lord of­fers.

Court Our Lady meet­ing

Oneida — Court Our Lady Catholic Daugh­ters 1250 will meet on Tues­day evening, Dec. 11, in St. Joseph’s Parish Cen­ter, Oneida at 7 pm. In an­tic­i­pa­tion of Christ­mas, mem­bers will cre­ate an Ad­vent wreath and con­tinue its Christ­mas tra­di­tion of putting money on the mit­ten tree for the needy. Christ­mas mu­sic and re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided. An im­por­tant busi­ness meet­ing will fol­low to re­view and de­cide on court is­sues. Eleanor Cmaylo and Shirlet Kris­tan are in charge of ar­range­ments.

DDSO up­com­ing ser­vices

Sher­rill — De­cem­ber’s DDSO ser­vice will be Wed­nes­day, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m. All ser­vices are held at Christ Church, 417 Park St., Sher­rill. The pub­lic is wel­come to at­tend.

Christ­mas Eve ser­vice

Utica — The Rev. Erin Djka Hol­ley will lead the Uni­tar­ian Univer­sal­ist Church of Utica’s Christ­mas Eve can­dle­light ser­vice at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 10 Higby Road. The theme of the evening is “hope.” Come sing car­ols and be in a com­pany of good cheer. All are wel­come.

Mass times changed

Chit­te­nango — Re­cently, Mass times at St. Pa­trick’s Church, Chit­te­nango, have changed. Satur­day vigil is at 4 p.m. Sun­day ser­vice is at 10:30 a.m., and there is no longer an 8 a.m. Mass.
