Slime Time at the Oneida Li­brary

Chil­dren rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty mak­ing home­made slime at the Oneida Pub­lic Li­brary on Sat­ur­day.

About a dozen chil­dren and their fam­i­lies showed up at the li­brary for the Fam­ily Su­per Sat­ur­day event. Bot­tles of glue, food col­or­ing, glit­ter and more lined the ta­ble, along with con­tact lens so­lu­tion do­nated by Em­pire Vision works to makes ure the slime projects came to­gether just right.

Youth Ser­vices Co­or­di­na­tor lead the kids us­ing the book “Ul­ti­mate Slime,” which is avail­able to be checked out fromthe li­brary by any fam­i­lies in­ter­ested in mak­ing some at home. The kids used stir­ring sticks and their hands to knead the slime to­gether, adding color, glit­ter and even foam beads to make their own unique cre­ations to take home.
