The Canas­tota Pub­lic Li­brary will be closed on Mon­day, Jan. 21, in ob­ser­vance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Oneida Pub­lic Li­brary will also be closed to ob­serve the birth­day of Martin Luther King Jr. The li­brary will be open as usual on Tues­day, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mother/Son Valen­tine dance

St. Pa­trick’s Ele­men­tary School will host the Be My Valen­tine Mother/Son Dance on Feb. 9 from 6-9 p.m. at Dib­bles Inn, Ver­non. There will be a buf­fet din­ner, DJ, and photo booth. The dance is a fundraiser for the school. Tick­ets are $50 adults and $25 per child. Any mother fig­ure is wel­come and the pub­lic is in­vited to at­tend. Free movies

The Oneida Pub­lic Li­brary will show “Co­lette” on Mon­day, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. In “Co­lette,” Keira Knight­ley por­trays the epony­mous French au­thor in 1920’s Paris in Wash West­more­land’s 2018 film.
