Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Canastota Public Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Oneida Public Library will also be closed to observe the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. The library will be open as usual on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mother/Son Valentine dance

St. Patrick’s Elementary School will host the Be My Valentine Mother/Son Dance on Feb. 9 from 6-9 p.m. at Dibbles Inn, Vernon. There will be a buffet dinner, DJ, and photo booth. The dance is a fundraiser for the school. Tickets are $50 adults and $25 per child. Any mother figure is welcome and the public is invited to attend. Free movies

The Oneida Public Library will show “Colette” on Monday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. In “Colette,” Keira Knightley portrays the eponymous French author in 1920’s Paris in Wash Westmorela­nd’s 2018 film.
