‘Gigi’ moviemusical

Oneida — The Oneida Public Library Monday Movie Matinee will celebrate the perennial favorite French author, Colette, with the classic Hollywoodmusical “Gigi” on Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. Based on a novella by Colette and directed by Vincente Minnelli, the movie is set in Belle Époque Paris and noteworthy for the songs and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. The film stars Leslie Caronas the young courtesan in training, Louis Jordan as her smitten admirer and Maurice Chevalier as an incorrigible old roué.
