Girls Basketball

HAMILTON 56, MCGRAW25 >> Hamilton’s defense yielded just 11 points through the first three quarters of play in a convincing win over McGraw. Ashley LaRuffa led the Emerald Knights and all scorers with 18 points, adding 13 boards for a double-double. Beth Belanger directed traffic for the Knights, dishing out seven assists. Karissa Wilbur buried five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points to pace McGraw in the defeat.

ONEIDA 3, MORRISVILL­E-EATON 0 >> Schuyler Vecchiano recorded two aces, 18 assists, and 14 digs to help Oneida knock off defending Class D champion Morris- ville-Eaton in straight sets: 25-22, 25-19, 25-11. Fellow senior Nicole Smith added three aces, eight kills, and 12 digs for Cynthia Bobo’s Oneida side in the victory. Kendra Waltz paced M-E with 10 kills and nine digs in the loss. CHITTENANG­O 3, FABIUSPOMP­EY 0 >> Chittenang­o just keeps rolling. Amy Simmons’ Bears topped FabiusPomp­ey in straight sets: 25-15, 25-8, 25-18. Chelsea Lamphere led Chittenang­o with six kills, and Bailey Simmons recorded a teamhigh in assists with eight. Bayla Cutrie chipped in with two aces, four kills, and seven assists.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 7, PROCTOR 4 >> VVS used a pair of big performanc­es to take down Utica Proctor on Friday. MacKenzie O’Herien led the Red Devils with a 266-650 and teammate Hannah Gowans got in on the funwith a 267-600 in a contest that saw VVS edge Proctor in total pin count 3,784 to 3,763. Kaitlyn Conte paced Proctor with a 254-600 in the defeat. ROMEFREEAC­ADEMY9, CAMDEN2>> Emily Matt led RFA to a 9-2 win over Camden, recording a line of 213 and 542 series. Erin Bourgeois paced Camden with 201557.

Thursday Results Girls Volleyball

ONEIDA 3, CAMDEN 0 >> Oneida pushed its Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division record to 4-0 on Thursday, topping Camden in three straight sets: 25-15, 25-11, 25-14. Nicole Smith (14), Kayla Suppa (12), and Reilly White (11) combined for 37 digs to help lead Oneida. Molly Moyer and Smith paced Oneida in kills with five each.

SHERBURNE- EARLVILLE 54, HAMILTON 40 >> Hamilton trailed SherburneE­arlville by five at 45- 40 with two minutes left to play in Thursday’s Center State Conference crossover bout, but the Marauders closed the contest out on a 9-0 run to hold on for the win. Kaitlyn Furner led all S-E and all scorers with 16 points. Ashley La Ruffa paced the EmeraldKni­ghts with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.

CAMDEN 56.0, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 17.0 >> Camden dropped just three matches, one of those coming via forfeit, to race to a 56-17 win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Thursday.

Boys Volleyball

ONEIDA 3, WESTMORELA­ND 0>> After dropping its first two contests of the season, Oneida grabbed its first win of the season on Wednesday, taking down Westmorela­nd in straight sets: 2515, 25-15, 25-22. Dylan Becraft led Oneida with nine kills and four blocks. Ethan Scanlon and Tom Smolen comined for 23 assists for Oneida, while Jordan Farwell paced Rik Ano’s side in digs with nine.
