Ma­ci­olek re­tires from nurs­ing af­ter 22 years

HERKIMER, N.Y. >> Li­censed Prac­ti­cal Nurse (LPN) Donna Ma­ci­olek was hon­ored by fam­ily and friends dur­ing a re­tire­ment cel­e­bra­tion on Fri­day, Jan. 4, at Val­ley Health Ser­vices. Ma­ci­olek has worked at Val­ley Health Ser­vices for more than 22 years as an LPN, and it has be­come a fam­ily af­fair as her two chil­dren, Nick and Jeanette Golicki, cur­rently work at VHS as Cer­ti­fied Nurs­ing As­sis­tants (CNA). Ma­ci­olek said she has en­joyed her time at Val­ley Health Ser­vices; how­ever, she is re­tir­ing so she can con­tinue to feed her pas­sion for trav­el­ing. She notes some of her fa­vorite des­ti­na­tions in­clude Cape Cod, Fla., Ni­a­gara Falls, Ply­mouth and Ver­mont. “I am a sea­soned trav­eler and will go any­where there is sun­shine,” Ma­ci­olek said.
