ONEIDA - Stanley D. Guy, 89, Creek Road, passed away, late Thursday evening, January 10, 2019, at the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, where he had been a resident for the past nine months. Born in the Town of Lincoln on March 25, 1929, he was the son of Floyd and Fredricka Burleson Guy. A lifelong resident of the area, Stanley attended Stockbridg­e Valley Schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, having served in Korea during the Korean War. Stanley married Florence Valerio on December 17, 1953. Florence passed away August 8, 1978. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the New York State Department of Transporta­tion as a heavy equipment operator. Stanley was a member of the National Rifle Associatio­n and was of the Christian faith. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Extended Care Facility for the care given to Stanley during his stay. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas F. and Sandra Guy of Oneida; two grandchild­ren, Anna ( Adam) Guy-Brackman and Rebecca Guy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Reverend John McInerney, officiatin­g. Friends may call at the funeral home, 4-7 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service. Interment will be made 10:00 AM, Wednesday, in the Oneida Castle Cemetery.
