Irrigation water management assistance

MARCY, N.Y. >> The United States Department of Agricultur­e’s Natural Resources Conservati­on Service (NRCS) will offer a special program sign-up for technical and financial assistance for agricultur­al producers to implement irrigation water management practices in Cayuga, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Saratoga, St. Lawrence, Warren, and Washington counties.

This special program focuses on practices that improve irrigation efficiency and plant health and productivi­ty. The applicatio­n deadline for this AMA funding is Jan. 18, 2019.

All applicatio­ns are competitiv­e and are ranked based on national, state and locally identified resource priorities and the overall benefit to the environmen­t. At the time of applicatio­n, applicants must specify the resource concern(s) that they intend to address.
