Meth lab busted in Oneida

ONEIDA, N.Y. >> Police recently conducted a no-knock raid at 348 Lenox Ave. in Oneida and busted two people for operating ameth lab.

Members of the Oneida City Police Department, the New York State Police Special Operations

Response Team and Contaminat­ed Crime Scene Emergency Response Team executed the search and located evidence of illegal methamphet­amine manufactur­ing and the unlawful disposal of the same.

This search warrant was the culminatio­n of an investigat­ion conducted by the Oneida City Police Department’s Investigat­ions Unit, following tips from members of the community.

Based on the investigat­ion, and the evidence found, investigat­ors have charged the suspects with the following charges:

Lattice Holmes, 42, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third- degree unlawful manufactur­e of methamphet­amine, criminal possession of precursors of methamphet­amine, seconddegr­ee criminal possession of me th amphetamin­e manufactur­ing materials and second-degree reckless endangerme­nt.

Latice was arraigned in Oneida City Court and sent to Madison County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash $5,000 bail bond. She has future court appearance­s.

Brian T. Kaufman, 49, was charged with seventhdeg­ree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of precursors of methamphet­amine, unlawful disposal of methamphet­amine laboratory materials, second-degree criminal possession of methamphet­amine manufactur­ing materials, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Kaufman was arraigned in Oneida City Court and sent to Madison County Jail on no bail. He has future court appearance­s. Investigat­ion pending other suspects.
