Cazenovia’s Galle, Royer earn spot in Division III finals

UTICA, N.Y. >> The Section III Division III girls tennis finals will feature a Lakers vs. Lakers battle.

Cazenovia duo Alex Galle and Nina Royer roared to the final round, dropping three sets of opponents in straight sets.

Waiting for Cazenovia’s top tandem is Skaneateles Lakers duo Ella Danforth and Emma Miller, who also took advantage of a first round bye before defeating a trio of opponents in straight sets.

Galle and Royer topped Canastota duo Skyler Donley and Valona Whitehead 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the quarterfinal round.

In the quar ter f i - nals, Katelyn Precourt and Gabrielle Skotniski became the second tandem to fall to Laker pair as Galle and Royer went unblemished in a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Galle and Royer continued to roll in the semifinal round, defeating Marcellus’ Kaitlyn Kemp & Morgan Walsh handily, 6-1, 6-2.

Following the semifinal success, Galle and Royer are set for a Thursday final meeting with Danforth andMiller to determine the Division III doubles champion.
