John Reinhardt honored with Fariel Vocational Award
ONEIDA, N.Y. >> Madison County Supervisor John Reinhardt was honored with the Fariel Vocational Award for being a longtime community leader dedicated to making Oneida a better place.
Annually, the Oneida Rotary Club honors a person who exemplifies outstanding business and professional ethics and leadership and serves as a role model through his or her professional actions and activities. The Club selects someone who establishes consistent quality of work, has friendly and courteous interaction with people, the ability to educate others in the performance of duties, invigorates and motivates people by setting positive examples with measurable benefits to the organization and community in which they reside.
Earlier this month, Rotarians and community members joined together to thank and celebrate Reinhardt for this year’s award. Reinhardt has extensive experience in leadership roles throughout Madison County, including the Madison County Industrial Development Agency, COMCODevelopment Corporation, CNY Regional Economic Development Council, and Oneida Area Industries, the Oneida Healthcare Foundation, Oneida City Hospital Board of Managers, the Salvation Advisory Board, Oneida Rotary Club (Past President 19841985), Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Greater Oneida.
Throughout his long career in the Oneida community, Reinhardt has dedicated thousands of hours to economic development and community agencies to make Oneida, our county and region a better place to work and live. Following his 36-year career in banking in Oneida, and subsequent ventures, John was elected to the Madison County Board of Supervisors, where he has served for the past twelve years.
“John has guided and kept watch over our County’s budget and departmental operations, contributing to Madison County’s municipal credit rating be
ing upgraded to ‘AA-’, which results in lower borrowing costs for all bonded projects in the County and reduced the burdens on taxpayers,” wroteMike Debottis, Rotarian, who nominated Reinhardt for the award.
Hank Leo, Chair of the Bill Fariel Award Committee added, “We had several wonderful nominations this year for the award. John is a great selection. I’ve had the opportunity to work with him in a number of capacities over the years. Well deserved and Coach Fariel would be proud that John was honored in his memory.”
