Early voting starts next weekend in New York

WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. >> This is the first year in New York state that voters can take part in early voting. Early voting begins on Saturday, Oct. 26.

In Madison County, early voting will be available at the Madison County Board of Elections Office, 138 North Court Street, Wampsville, first floor of building number four, next to the DMV office. Voters will vote on the same voting system used on Election Day.

Hours for early voting will be:

• Saturday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Monday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Tuesday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Wednesday, Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Friday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Sunday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents who wish to vote by absentee, the absentee applicatio­n forms are available from the Madison County Board of Elections by calling 315-366-2231 and can also be downloaded at www.madisoncou­nty.ny.gov/ boe. Residents may also go to the Board of Elections Office at 138 North Court Street, Building 4, Wampsville, during office hours and early voting hours to fill out an absentee formand vote in person.

It is too late to register to vote for this General Election. Time is available to facilitate voters who wish to vote early. No votes will be tallied until the close of polls on election night.
